The five symbolic colors of the five Buddha families is arranged in the traditional pattern of green for the north, blue for the east, yellow for the south, and red for the west. The center, standing for Vaironcana, the Buddha of Infinite Light, is pure white.
Holly enjoys exploring a variety of painting media, including oils, acrylics, pen and ink, pastels and watercolor. She has encouraged and taught hundreds of students in styles spanning realism to Impressionism to abstract art. Her wide range of work includes ancient sacred traditions, realistic local landmarks, whimsical fairy tales, and detailed pen and ink with hidden imagery. Her recent 15 month stay in India, where she studied Thangka painting (sacred Tibetan scroll painting) brought together her love of Buddhism, Tibetan culture, and expression in the arts.
